S.Africa’s All-share index scales new record peak

South Africa’s All-share index scaled a record high on Monday as commodity prices were lifted by growing hopes of more accommodative monetary stances coming from central banks around the world.

According to Reuters data the index hit 35,905.24, a fresh peak, before cooling off a bit. It was 0.25 percent higher at 35,881.59 at 0805 GMT. The Top-40 index was 0.3 percent higher and within striking distance of its life high of 31,690. 59.
