Nigerian leader to go to Saudi for “working visit”
By AfricaTimes on September 22, 2009
Nigerian President Umaru Yar’Adua will travel to Saudi Arabia on Tuesday for a five-day trip to meet King Abdullah and top government officials, his spokesman said.
Yar’Adua’s last visit to the Middle East country was in August for a medical check-up and to perform the Haj Muslim pilgrimage.
The presidency said this week’s trip was a “working visit” and did not comment on whether Yar’Adua would visit a hospital.
Yar’Adua has regularly sought medical treatment in Saudi Arabia and Germany for a chronic kidney problem.
