Stoke’s Olofinjana set for Monaco

By on July 28, 2009

Seyi Olofinjana looks set to leave Stoke City after the Potters agreed a fee of around £2.5m with Monaco for the Nigeria international midfielder.

The 29-year-old joined Stoke from Wolves in July 2008, but made just 14 starts in the Premier League.
Olofinjana now has to agree personal terms with the French league side.
He agreed to join Monaco in 2004 whilst playing in Norway, but the move was cancelled after a medical revealed he suffered from a heart defect.

Olofinjana scored twice in his time at the Britannia Stadium, in home matches against Everton and Arsenal.

He was a regular in the first team during the first half of the season, but played just 19 minutes after the turn of the year.

The Nigerian had previously enjoyed a successful four-year spell with Wolves in the Championship, but left Molineux to seek Premier League football.
